A reliable stream of metal that carries movement
Assignment
Sheet metal parts and welded assemblies for mobile tower cranes
One of our clients is a manufacturer of mobile tower cranes. For their crane frames and supporting structures, they rely on sheet metal components and welded assemblies produced at Kepser. The client sought a partner for the serial production of precisely cut and folded parts that could withstand high dynamic loads and fit directly into the assembly process. Dimensional accuracy, reproducibility, and consistent quality were essential, as were the availability of parts and the simplification of internal logistics.
Solution
Serial production with inventory management and customer-specific kits
Kepser mass-produces components based on 3D models and working drawings. We maintain targeted inventory and deliver complete sets on demand. We also create customer-specific kits, bundling sheet metal and profile parts into a package corresponding to a specific assembly or construction phase. The kits are assembled and packaged so they can be used directly in the production process. This shortens lead times and minimizes internal handling.
For complete identification and traceability, we label all components with the drawing number and a customer reference. Standard welding procedures and fixtures ensure accurate dimensions and squareness, and we then inspect all assemblies before they are released.
Result
Efficient supply and a streamlined assembly process
Serial production, inventory management, and delivery in sets and kits ensure a predictable supply. The components can be used directly in the assembly process. Customer-specific kits and minimal internal logistics shorten lead times and reduce the risk of errors. Our collaboration contributes to a stable production process and the reliable construction of mobile tower cranes.
